Effective Date: December 24, 2025
Welcome to "Clean Storage: Photo Cleaner" (hereinafter referred to as "this application" or "we"). We take your privacy and personal information protection very seriously. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, with whom we share it, how we store and protect it, and how you can exercise your rights. Please read it carefully before use.
1. Information We Collect
We follow the principle of minimum necessity. Depending on the features you use and the authorization you grant, the following information may be involved:
1.1 Information You Voluntarily Provide
Customer Service and Feedback Information: When you contact us via email, the email address you provide, the content of the communication, screenshots/logs (if you voluntarily attach them), etc.
Purpose: Problem identification, customer support, follow-up communication.
1.2 Device and Usage Information (Automatically Collected)
To ensure stable operation, statistical analysis, and ad display/measurement, we may collect:
Device Information: Device model, iOS version, language/region, time zone, screen resolution, app version number, network type, carrier information, crash and performance information (startup time, lag, error stack, etc.).
Identifiers:
IDFA (Advertising Identifier): Only available if you allow tracking via iOS "App Tracking Transparency (ATT)";
IDFV (Vendor Identifier), app instance identifier, identifiers generated by the advertising SDK, etc.
Usage Behavior Data: Statistical events such as page visits, button clicks, scan/cleanup triggers, and feature usage frequency (usually excluding your content itself).
Purpose: Feature optimization, statistical analysis, ad frequency control, and anti-fraud.
Note: Rejecting ATT does not affect core cleanup functions, but may affect personalized ad capabilities (non-personalized ads may still be displayed).
2. Permissions and Data Processing Methods Required for Each Core Function
The following is a breakdown of "What is Accessed, How is Data Processed, and Whether Uploaded" for each function.
2.1 Photo/Video Cleanup (Duplicate/Similar Photos, Video Cleanup)
Potential Permissions: Photo permission (iOS Photos). You can choose "All Photos" or "Selected Photos".
Information that may be accessed: Photos/videos and their metadata (such as creation time, size, resolution, duration, album affiliation, etc.), used to identify duplicate/similar media, calculate storage space usage, and generate cleanup suggestions.
Processing Method: We typically analyze and group data locally on the device for quick scanning and recommendations.
Upload: We will not upload your photo/video content to our servers unless you explicitly provide screenshots/logs in your feedback (and you decide whether it contains sensitive content).
2.2 Contact Cleanup (Duplicate Contacts, Merge/Delete)
Potential Permissions: Contacts permission.
Information that may be accessed: Contact name, phone number, email address, notes, etc. (subject to system accessibility), used to identify duplicate contacts and provide merge/delete suggestions.
Processing method: Duplicate identification and suggestion generation are usually completed on the local device.
Upload required: We will not upload your contact content to our servers.
2.3 Clear Completed Calendar Events
Potential permissions: Calendar permissions (Calendar / EventKit).
Information that may be accessed: Calendar event title, start/end time, status (completed/finished), associated calendar, etc., used to filter "completed/finished" events and perform cleanup.
Processing method: Filtering and cleanup are usually completed on the local device.
Upload required: We will not upload your calendar event content to our servers.
2.4 View Phone Storage Usage
Permissions: Generally, access to your personal content is not required.
Information that may be used: Total device storage, available space, estimated application cache/temporary data (subject to system API availability).
Purpose: To display a storage overview and cleanup suggestions.
Upload: Not uploaded by default.
2.5 Battery Status/Battery Health Related Information (based on system availability)
Permissions: Generally, no additional sensitive permissions are required.
Information that may be used: Battery percentage, charging status, system information related to battery usage; if the system allows/the device supports it, we may display prompts related to battery status or health (within the scope of Apple's public APIs or system availability).
Upload: Not uploaded by default.
2.6 Built-in Flashlight
Potentially required permissions: Some implementations may require "Camera/Webcam" permissions (used to control the flash/flashlight hardware, not for taking photos/videos).
We will not: Access the camera to capture images, record audio, or upload any video/photo content; it is only used for flashlight on/off control (if required).
Upload: Not uploaded.
2.7 Charging Animation Settings
Permissions: Generally, no access to personal data is required.
Data: Primarily your selected themes, animation styles, switch settings, and other preferences (generally saved locally).
Upload: Not uploaded by default.
3. How We Use Information
We use information for the following purposes:
Providing and Implementing Functionality: Scanning media libraries, identifying duplicates/similarities, deduplicating contacts, clearing calendar events, displaying storage/battery information, flashlight, charging animations, etc.
Ensuring Security and Stability: Troubleshooting, crash repair, performance optimization, preventing abuse and attacks.
Ad Display and Measurement: Displaying ads, tracking impressions/clicks/conversions, frequency control, anti-fraud (personalization depends on ATT and system settings).
Product Improvement: Tracking feature usage, optimizing user experience and interaction.
4. Advertising, Analytics, and Third-Party Sharing
We will not sell your personal information. To implement advertising and analytics, we may integrate third-party SDKs (e.g., ad display, crash analysis, statistical analysis, etc.). These third parties may collect or process:
Device information, network information, coarse location (typically based on IP-inferred country/city level), ad impression/click data
Identifiers (such as IDFA when you allow ATT, and IDFV/ad SDK identifiers)
We will endeavor to select compliant service providers and require them to process data in accordance with applicable laws and their privacy policies.
5. App Tracking Transparency (ATT) and Your Choice
When IDFA is needed for cross-app tracking for personalized advertising, iOS will show you an ATT authorization pop-up:
Allow: May show more relevant personalized ads and improve ad measurement accuracy.
Disallow: Will not track you via IDFA; ads may still be shown, but may be non-personalized.
You can change this at any time in the system:
Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking
6. Data Storage, Retention Period, and Security
Local Priority: Identification and cleanup of content such as photos/videos, contacts, and calendars are usually done locally; this app may retain necessary local caches (such as scan index, last scan time, UI preferences) to improve the experience. Retention Period: Retained only for the shortest period necessary to achieve the purpose; deleted or anonymized upon expiration.
Security Measures: Access control, minimal collection, encrypted transmission (where applicable), security updates, and anomaly monitoring, etc.
7. Your Rights and Permissions Management
You can manage permissions at any time through the iOS system:
Photos: Settings → Privacy & Security → Photos
Contacts: Settings → Privacy & Security → Contacts
Calendar: Settings → Privacy & Security → Calendar
Tracking: Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking
